Cynthia Mumbo is a distinguished leader in Africa’s sports industry, with a strong track record in driving strategic transformation, international partnerships, and sustainable development across the continent’s sports ecosystem.She is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sports Connect Africa, a Nairobi-based sports consultancy that works with a wide range of stakeholders—including international organizations such as NBA Africa, FIFA,Olympique Lyonnais, and Crystal Palace FC—to build capacity, foster collaboration, and grow Africa’s sports economy.

Cynthia is a graduate of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), where she ranked as the top student in Kenya. She has furthered her leadership development through executive programs at Wits University, the FIBA Academy, and the Babson College Launch and Grow Fellowship, the FHI360 program supported by the U.S. State Department and Vital Voices to empower women entrepreneurs globally.

Her leadership and influence span both national and continental platforms. She previously served on the Executive Committee of the Kenya Basketball Federation and currently holds board and advisory roles with several high-impact organizations, including the World Football Summit, AfroSport Summit (Ghana), Hype Sports Innovation, and the Africa Women in Sports Initiative. In Kenya, she is a Board Member of the Kenya Academy of Sports Council and contributes to national sports development through her role on the Strategy and Performance Commission of the National Olympic Committee of Kenya.
