John Hunwick,Founder Rwenzori Trekking and Elgon Trekking Services. John Hunwick has a wealth of experience in mountaineering and trail running. Born in Australia he first visited Uganda in 1990 and a year later moved there permanently and started a tour company in 1993.

In 2009 John was given a concession by Uganda Wildlife Authority to open up a new trail in the Rwenzori mountains starting from Kilembe to Margherita Peak at 5,109m where he has successfully opened up mountaineering in Western Uganda.John sees a lot of potential in mountaineering and adventure tourism in East Africa .
